My First Quilt (A Baby Blanket)

I just finished my first quilting project. A baby blanket for my hope chest! Do you like it? I had a great time making it. The 3 colors I choose for it were pink, green, and yellow (The back is all yellow. You just can't see it.). It's the perfect size.

Sewing ~ My Dress

Here are the pictures I said I would show you'll of my dress and how it's going.

Here's me, it was in the morning so I was still a little tired.

Here is my great friend Petie!

We are starting! We were very excited!

Sewing, sewing, sewing!

Here is about how far we had already had done. My top.

Petie's top.

I was intently pining something.

Here Petie was sewing something.

Above and below picture: Here is how far we got!!! All we have left is the hem and the sleeves!

We put them on over our clothes, so if we look silly big is because of that.

We had a great time. We will be able to finish them the next time we get together. But the next time we get together is next month. HOW AM I GOING TO WAIT!!!!!! :-)

Life....

Life at my house has been rather slow the last couple of days. We have all been a little sick, not feeling well, or just bored. (Please pray that we all get better soon.) ;-)

I have been able stick to my Bible reading very well. I have really enjoyed the time to just stop and read my Bible in the morning. I haven't ever really done this on a regular basis.

School has gone good the last couple of weeks. As one of my friends would say when ever I ask her how her school is going,"schoolish."

I have been able to finish 3 books in the last week as well! And I am almost done with 2 others!

I have Sewing tomorrow with my friend. We are going to work on our dresses, so I will post how we did tomorrow night. I hope we have an easy day and that nothing goes horribly wrong. :-)

I hope you have a wonderful evening!

Sewing ~ My Dress

I wrote a little bit back that I was sewing a dress. Here are some pictures of what I have done so far.

Above: Here Is what the dress will look like. (It's the one with the long sleeves.) This pattern is just for a top so we are lengthening it into a dress.

Above: Here is the tie...or what will be the tie.

Above: Here is the top. This is the Gathering we did. It turn out really good.

Above: This is the top part of the dress/top.
I will keep you up to date on the progress as I go. I work on it ones a month with my friend who is also making a dress like this.

Sewing ~ cloth wipes

We have started to use cloth diapers in our house and so we are also using cloth wipes. My mom and me made some this week. They are made out of soft receiving blankets that we just cut in to the right size and them sewed up. They easy to made and very soft for the little one's bottoms.

Above and Below: Her is were we cute them out. We already had some so we set them on top so we would know how big to make them. We cut them just a little bit bigger so we would have enough to sew and then turn under.

We cut them out right sides together then sewed all most all the way around. Next we turned them the right sides out (thought the part we didn't sew), ironed them, then to finish we sewed zig-zag all the way around the outside.

Above: Here is me intently sewing.

Above: I love sewing!

Above: Here is the end product. They turned out nicely, but let me tell you that I am NOT a professional so they are not the best, but we aren't that picky.

Fun Craft

My aunt found this book at the library. It's THE CUTE BOOK. (Picture above)It shows how to make (sew) these cute little dolls. I got it from the library a long time ago and made some. I haven't done it in a long time, but I got the stuff out yesterday and made a rabbit for my sister Lauren. (Pictures above) She is going to open it tomorrow and she is going to love it. I'm now making a pink dog. She will love it too. You can get the book at the library or buy it on amazon, target, etc.

Sewing

I had sewing today. Me and my friend Petie (nickname) sew together. We are making dresses, but we got slippery material so we had a hard time at first. After a little bit we got better. My dresses is going to be Red with White Dotes and a White band/tie in the middle. It's going to be really pretty when it's done, but...it's going to take a long time to make it.
